Conservation Commission Minutes 2005/04/11 (Special Mtg)
Conservation Commission
Special Meeting
04/11/2005

Members Present: Chair, Lee Larson, Vickie May, Laura McDaniel, Adair Mulligan, and Richard Jones-Selectman.

Public Present:  Attorney Bradford Atwood, representing Loch Lyme lodge (LLL) – owned by Paul and Judy Barker, Allison Rogers, Rut Bleyler, Hebe Quinton, Ross McIntyre, Tom Morrissey and Pete Bleyler.

8:14PM: Meeting opened by Lee Larson

8:14PM: Richard Jones spoke to a verbal report that he received from Dorf Sears. She reported that a former pond resident, Bart Mayo, kept records of the ice in and ice out date and gives the average ice in date of December 7th and average ice out date of April 18th.  This reinforces the importance of the dates of the no breach policy for safety concerns.  Discussion ensued on possibly changing the written dates to April 30th or ice out, whichever is later.  It was decided to leave the policy as is for this matter.

8:16PM: Vicki May brought forth the suggestion of changing the 5 day waiting period between breaches.  Lee Larson reports that it takes at least three days for the results of a breach to stabilize and show on the gauge. It was decided to leave the policy as is for this matter.

8:20PM: General discussion of the nature and health of the Pond and the sustainability of nesting wildlife (Loons)at various water levels.

8:22PM: Lee Larson suggested a minor editorial change to the draft policy. Page three, paragraph III: change RSA 219:9 to 210:9.

8:22PM: Lee Larson moved to change the policy to reflect this, Vickie seconded.

8:22PM: Yea’s- all.

8:25PM: Meeting adjourned.
