MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:35 PM

1. TOPIC: ~ Budget
~~ ~ DISCUSSION:~ Needs to be put together by the October Meeting.~ Will discuss at next meeting.
~~ ~ ACTION:~ need to consider what we will do in place of energy fair, as this will impact the budget request..

2. ~ TOPIC:~ ~ Wood boiler at the town garage.
~~ ~ ~ DISCUSSION: ~ Matt has produced a~ report on the cost of energy and the savings accrued over the years.
~~ ~ ~ ACTION: ~ Can report that Matt left report on wood pellet numbers with Elyse this AM (Mon 9/21) and she wanted to put into computer and then post.~~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Perhaps she didn't get to it but assume she'll do soon.

3.~ ~ TOPIC: ~ School lunch program
DISCUSSION: ~ Farm to to school meeting held at the Lyme school today. ~ Carola attended.~ Money is a problem. ~ Need to develop a list of food producers in Lyme and find a funding source.

4.~ TOPIC: ~ Energy Audits
DISCUSSION:~ funding source-~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Need a list of buildings that would need to be audited and information on their energy consumption and square footage..
~ ~ Simon may have more up to date info.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ REGGI funds may be coming again early next year.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Cost of Carbon Credits have dropped due to economic downturn.
Grant application is very cumbersome and timer consuming.
May want to look at doing all town buildings instead of just one.
ACTION: ~ Wait until next meeting to discuss with Simon.
5.~ TOPIC: ~ Infrared Camera from the fire dept.
DISCUSSION:~ Dan talked with Mike Hinsley who is willing to loan the Energy Committee, the camera and teach us how to use it. ~
~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Bob Walker stated it is not the same camera that he uses but is in interested in hearing how we make out.~
~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ See if Alan Greatorex would be interested in joining us, on this endeavor as he has a lot of experience in this area.
~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Will wait until we all gain experience to decide how broad to make this program.

6. ~ TOPIC:~ What other projects should the committee take on.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Discussion: ~ A. ~ Dan-~ Discussed use of foam insulating equipment.~ Dan has done this, ? if people would want assistance in doing it themselves.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ B.~ ? Hardware store would be willing to assist. ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ C.~ would they be interested in having mini-clinics in how to do energy saving installations.
