Emergency 9-1-1
If you wish to burn clean, ordinary combustibles such as leaves, brush or untreated lumber or have a camp or cooking fire, state law requires you obtain a fire permit unless the ground where you are burning is completely covered with snow. (Gas grills or charcoal fires in a container up and off the ground on your own property do not require a fire permit.) Conditions permitting, fire permits may be obtained from the forest fire warden Brian Rich or the following deputy wardens: Steve Maddock, Bob Sanborn, Kevin Balch or Tyler Rich. Before lighting a fire, notify the dispatch center at 643-2222 where and when you will be burning.
