PROJECTS
- Discovering Our Cellar Holes: Adair Mulligan briefly updated the attendees on the status of the project to explore Lyme’s extensive network of cellar holes that, when identified, analyzed and recorded, provide a new and exciting look into our past.
She introduced Tanya Kress, archaeologist and Records Coordinator, NH Division
of Historical Resources in Concord, who offered her congratulations and support. She stated the state is considering using our project as a model for other New Hampshire towns.
Elizabeth Kilmarx will be leading a cellar hole group at the Roby property on
Saturday, May 12th.
- Displaying Farm Equipment: At last year’s Annual Meeting, Charles Balch suggested the need for a barn to display farm implements. The Town asked for, and The Historians submitted a complete plan including parking, relocating the swing set, and a possible barn/shed for large size donations. It was turned down at the town meeting. We will be meeting with the selectman with possible alternatives.
