Lyme Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes
April 10, 2008
Lyme Center Academy Building
6:00pm
Attendees: Tom Yurkosky, Bob Couture, Kathleen Henriques, Pete Mulvihill, Charles Ragan
Minutes from March 31, 2008 meeting were approved.
All were very pleased with the Conservation Commission’s decision to amend the Post Pond Water Release Policy to maintain a 2’ water level. The RC will begin contacting contractors and give Pathways the go ahead to complete the drawing and permits after the public meeting on the 21st. Charles confirmed that the Selectmen are committed to funding the recommended breaching of the dams throughout the summer recreation seasons.
Pete has received $70,670 in donations to date. He will coordinate setting up the proper account/tax ID # with Dina. He will also communicate with the donors with respect to a timeline in accepting donations/pledges as well as thanks. Pete will discuss with Greg Hanlon about being the point person to oversee the construction portion of project.
Tom will contact the Road Crew to help out with the school field project in mid summer, the beach project in early summer and the ball field in late summer.
Dina is working out an agreement with Crossroads for use of their new field. We will discuss at the next meeting.
It was noted that the Valley News is doing an article on the pond issue early next week.
