Lots of stuff happening with the State and motor vehicle/licensing things.
Prepare for increased fees. It's our understanding that State Fees for the purchase and renewal of motor vehicle plates will be increasing effective
August 1st. There has been some information published about this on/in various websites and newspapers, but the "official" word has not yet been received from the State to our office, so I don't dare speculate what the actual increases will be.
Also, the Lebanon Motor Substation (where we're all used to going to renew our driver's license, getting boat registrations and doing heavy trucks and trailers is closed until further notice. We haven't been told why...actually we haven't been told much of anything...:(
We do know that the closest place for completing these chores is now Clarement (!). They are open Monday through Friday 8:15 to 4:15 for motor vehicle registrations and Thursday & Friday for licensing and are located at 17 Water Street.
Other options include:
--going to the Concord DMV, where they are open for all things everyday from 8:15 until 4:15.
--Woodsville for driver's license-they do these the second and forth Friday of the month at the courthouse building.
--Orford Town Clerk for boats-she's open Tuesday from 2pm to 7pm, Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm and Thursday from 8am to 11am.
I'm so sorry---will let you know if/when this changes.
