NOTICE: PROPERTY INVENTORY FORMS (FORM PA-28)
Just a reminder: The “Inventory of Taxable Property” (PA-28) forms are due on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. They may be postmarked on or before April 15, 2008.
Woops! A number of people (about 20%) are failing to fill out Step 5 Census Requirements RSA 74:4,III(C) which includes the important census information. The census information includes some of the more important information we need and is one of the primary reasons we resumed using the dreaded Inventory Form. We understand why you were led astray. It appears at first blush that the questions in Step 5 are a follow-up to the last question in Step 4 “Other Property” C which asks whether you have purchased additional property. However, in Step 5 we want to know who lives at the property you are reporting about, not at the additional new property you may have just acquired.
Woops! When two or more people own the property all of the owners are supposed to sign the inventory form. Many people forget and just have one of the owners sign the form.
The national census is coming up in 2010 and preparations are being made now to test and verify the accuracy of those numbers when the time comes. Thank you for filling out this annoying form. We appreciate it.
