Public Hearing on Post Pond Water Release Policy
LYME CONSERVATION COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING AND SPECIAL MEETING

The Lyme Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 7:30 PM at the Lyme Center Academy Building.  The purpose of this hearing, required under RSA 36-A:4 and RSA 210:9, is to hear comments and discussion about a proposal to amend the Lyme Conservation Commission Post Pond Water Release Policy.  The major changes proposed include  lowering the water level at which breaching can be authorized from the Natural Mean High Water Elevation (NMHWE, 3.0 on the local staff gauge) for Post Pond as determined by the Water Resources Division of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services in 2004 to ~2.0 ft on the local gauge. Proposed amendments also include a controlled breaching plan using paid staff.

This public hearing will be followed immediately by a special meeting of the Conservation Commission where further discussion and possible action on this proposal will take place.  Anyone interested is invited to attend.  If there are questions contact any Commission member:

Matt Stevens, Chairman
Lee Larson
Adair Mulligan
Russell Hirschler
Richard G Jones, Selectman
