September 8, 2026 NH Primary Election Info
Hi, Lymies!
This Tuesday, September 8, 2026 is the New Hampshire Primary Election. Lyme’s election will be held at the Lyme School Gymnasium. The polls will open at 7 am and close at 7 pm.
If you are currently registered to vote, you’ll need to bring photo identification to show to the ballot clerks in order to receive your ballot. Please be advised that student ids are no longer accepted as photo identification. If you aren’t yet registered to vote, you may register on election day. You will need to present proof of citizenship, identity, age, and domicile (those not in possession of proof of citizenship may fill out a qualified voter affidavit). For information on what documents you may use as proof, feel free to peruse the Secretary of State’s website here.
While the town offices will be closed on Labor Day, the town clerk’s office will be open 3-5 pm for any last minute absentee ballot activity. As a reminder, absentee ballots must be returned to the town clerk by 5 pm on Tuesday 9/8/26 in order to be counted.
