Black Bear Information
The following documents provide information on black bears in the Town of Lyme, including their habitat, behavior, and how to prevent encounters. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s “Living with Black Bears” brochure provides an overview of black bear biology and tips for securing trash and other attractants. The “Black Bear Fact Sheet” from the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension provides additional information on black bear behavior and safety tips. The “Black Bear Sighting Form” allows residents to report black bear sightings to the Town.
