Trails Day

Event Date:
Saturday, June 1, 2019 - 9:00am

The Lyme Conservation Commission maintains trail networks in all five of the Town of Lyme’s conserved areas. These include The Chaffee Wildlife Sanctuary, Big Rock Preserve, Lower Grant Brook Trail, Trout Pond Forest and The Town Forest.  Information about these special places, as well as trail maps, can be found on the Town of Lyme Web site:

Each year, on the first Saturday of June, the Lyme Conservation Commission joins other Conservation Commissions and trails organizations throughout the Upper Valley to spend a few hours devoted to trail restoration and/or improvement. This year’s “Trails Day” is to take place on Saturday, June 1.

If you’d like to join us for a couple of hours working on a trail, please meet at 9:00 a.m. on the backside of the Lyme Town Common to carpool out to the work site(s). Sturdy footwear, appropriate for soggy conditions, is highly recommended. Work gloves are a necessity too. Bring bug repellant, sun block and water. Tools will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own should you prefer.

Please join us. It’s a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some of Lyme’s celebrated, natural beauty while helping to maintain some of the Town’s valuable, recreational resources.
