Theft Prevention Tips

You may be aware that there has been an increase in thefts and burglaries in surrounding communities. On 10/22/09, a Lyme residence was burglarized during the afternoon hours. I am asking that you all take proactive steps to decrease the impact on our community.

  1. Lock your doors
  2. Take notice of unfamiliar vehicles parked in your neighborhood (jot down the plate and type of vehicle)
  3. Call us about suspicious persons or activities (795-2047, if we don't answer, Hanover Dispatch will pick up - tell them as much information as you can.)
  4. If you are leaving town, fill out a "vacant house form", so we know how best to assist you (fill it out and fax it 795-9368, email it, deliver it or slip it under our door).
  5. If you have an alarm, test it, update the alarm monitoring company with new contact information, and set it whenever you leave the house.

Whenever you think that something doesn't seem right.....take action and call the police. A vigilant neighborhood watch is a deterrent!
